A Goofy Movie (1995). "Max, look, it's the Leaning Tower of Cheesa!"

Join us this weeks episode "A Goofy Movie". We talk quack pack, embarrassing dad's, getting the girl over the top, hillbillies, generational trust, hyuck, and why you never promise a crush anything! Does this movie have us on the road ride or die? Or would we prefer to pass quietly in the night being stalked by a robber bear? Find out now!

Storyline :It's the last day of school, and Max wants to catch the eye of Roxanne, one of the more attractive girls in school. But how can you be cool when your dad's Goofy? Stage an impromptu concert at the final assembly, that's how! Or at least it sounded good until Principal Mazer found out. Goofy finds out about his son's antics (sort of), and decides a fishing trip, like his dad took him on, is the solution. Of course, he doesn't know that Max finally lands a date with Roxanne for a party thrown by the class valedictorian. Through the movie, Goofy tries to bring Max out of his shell, while Max resents being taken away, and lying to Roxanne about the trip (he tells her he & his dad will be appearing on TV at the PowerLine concert in LA). Will Max sink or swim? Will Goofy goof up his son's first shot at romance? Will Bigfoot step back? And what about those nuns?

Are you even a real disney movie fan if you don't know all the words to I2I?

It's hard to be cool, when your dad's Goofy. Hopefully these fun facts help.

  1. Donald Duck originally had a larger role where he played a travel agent. Goofy asks "What do you think I should do?" Donald responds incoherently. Goofy responds, "What did you say? Is there someone else I can talk to?"

  2. The character of Powerline is a mixture of Bobby Brown, Prince, and Michael Jackson.

  3. Rob Paulsen (voice of P.J.) has admitted several times in interviews that he has never seen this film in its entirety.

  4. Bobby Brown was originally set to voice Powerline and had already recorded some songs for the character, but was fired due to substance abuse issues. Some of the songs Bobby did for the movie were revamped and ended up on his "Forever" album.

  5. The character of Principal Mazur, voiced by Wallace Shawn, is based loosely on screenwriter Jymn Magon's own high school principal of the same name.
