Cruella (2021). "Wreaking havoc at galas is my personal specialty."

Join us for this week's episode "Cruella". We talk bad dogs, homeless children, gutter hot, plots on angles on plans on plots, jewelry goals, being a b*tch, owning the room, ruling through pranks and why you should always have an expendable alter ego ready to go. Does this movie have us looking down our noses in sheik approval or are we hoping to be attacked by the dogs? Find out now!

Storyline :Before she becomes Cruella de Vil, teenage Estella has a dream. She wishes to become a fashion designer, having been gifted with talent, innovation, and ambition all in equal measures. But life seems intent on making sure her dreams never come true. Having wound up penniless and orphaned in London at 12, 10 years later Estella runs wild through the city streets with her best friends and partners-in-(petty)-crime, Horace and Jasper, two amateur thieves. When a chance encounter vaults Estella into the world of the young rich and famous, however, she begins to question the existence she's built for herself in London and wonders whether she might, indeed, be destined for more after all.

This soundtrack was full of bangers almost too many. It wouldn't be Cruella if it wasn't overkill.

Hello cruel world. Here's come fun facts to get through it.

  1. The placement of the suit of armor in Hellman Hall replicates that of the original One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961).

  2. In an example of foreshadowing, young Cruella's blots on her permanent record resemble Dalmatian spots.

  3. Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Emma Thompson, Julianne Moore, and Demi Moore were all in the running to play the role of Baroness von Hellman. Eventually, Thompson ended up taking the part of the Baroness.

  4. This was the first film to get a red carpet premiere after the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020.

  5. First went into development in 2013, with Emma Stone being cast in the lead three years later.
