Eight Below...inspired by a true story. "Inspired" basically none of this is based in fact. But these fun facts are!

  1. Each dog had at least one stunt double. In all, over 30 dogs were used in this film, at least 5 of which also appeared in the movie Snow Dogs (2002).

  2. Dogs have been banned from Antarctica by treaty since 1993 because of evidence that disease was spreading to seal wildlife.

  3. It is incorrectly noted above that it would be dark. The characters mentioned it was the end of January which is mid-summer in Antarctica, it would be light outside nearly continuously.

  4. The name of the "Lamborghini" of Snow Cats that they borrowed from the Italian camp was named "Mare Biscotto", it translates to "Sea Biscuit".

  5. American Humane Association monitored the animal action. No animals were harmed in the making of this film. (AHA 00952).

If you too enjoy dogs dropping like flies and a sub-par andy sandberg to be found in Jason Biggs this is for you. Right here on Disney+
