Some Seriously FREAKY Fun Facts
A member of the band Orgy instructed Jamie Lee Curtis on how to play the guitar. In the concert sequence, although Curtis practiced at making it look authentic, in the finished film a studio musician overdubbed the guitar solo.
Michelle Trachtenberg was cast as Anna, but had to back out, due to her contractual obligations to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). Coincidentally, this is the second movie she turned down in which Lindsay Lohan won the lead role. The first was Lohan's film debut, The Parent Trap (1998).
Tom Selleck was originally cast as Ryan, but dropped out.
Although Jodie Foster refused to come back to make any cameo in the remake after Mark Waters asked her, she even told the media she "didn't want to be in Freaky Friday", Mark McClure, who played her boyfriend Boris in the original, did come back; playing the same character! (His character is named Boris again!). Incidentally, McClure is the only star from the original to make an appearance in the reboot.
Jamie Lee Curtis had only six days to prepare for the role of Tess, after Annette Bening dropped out.
