Hocus Pocus (1993)."Thank you Zach for that MARVELOUS introduction."

Join us on our broomsticks this week down memory lane (for one of us at least) as we watch and review Hocus Pocus the Halloween cult classic from 1993.  What is Disney really trying to teach us here? The value of sisterhood, don't play with fire, don't be a virgin, are your parents having weird 1800s upper class sex parties?  Don't be a Thackary Binx (WHAT TOOK THEE SO LONG) and check out our latest episode now!

How many of us wish we could just dance the night away to I Put a Spell on You? It is THE iconic song of the movie.

It's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!

  1. When Max sets off the sprinkler system in the Sanderson house, he stands directly below it and gets completely drenched. When he runs out of the house, his jacket is totally dry.

  2. The role of Max Dennison was originally offered to Leonardo DiCaprio. He turned it down to appear in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993).

  3. Brother and sister Garry Marshall and Penny Marshall play husband and wife. He's the one dressed as Satan.

  4. Hocus Pocus was filmed over the course of five months in Salem, Massachusetts and numerous other locations. Filming started on October 12, 1992, and finished on February 10, 1993.

  5. Several scenes appear in the various original trailers that are not included in the released version of the film. They include Mary and Sarah pushing Winnifred into the school swimming pool, the witches being surrounded by trick-or-treaters holding out their hands, the witches meeting up with Billy only to complain about his "foul stench", Mary and Winnifred inspecting the school's lockers, and Mary snacking in a grocery store only to be dragged out by Winifred.

While we only are watching the first one you can watch Hocus Pocus 1 and 2 right here on Disney+ and apparantly there will be a 3rd one at some point? Why?
