How the Man or Muppet song won an oscar is beyond us but here are a few samplings from the Muppets soundtrack.

These facts are closer than you think...

  1. The first of The Muppets' productions to win an Oscar. Bret McKenzie won Best Original Song for "Man or Muppet".

  2. Due to limited space for the puppeteers, in the scene where the car is full of The Muppets after picking them all up, Amy Adams and Jason Segel were asked to operate the Muppets on either side of them.

  3. Producers gave Jason Segel (Gary) a feedback card from a child audience member at an early test screening of the film. The producers attached a handwritten note to Jason's feedback card that said, "To keep you humble." When asked to describe what the child audience member did not like about the film, the child wrote in response, "Gary's face."

  4. The role of Tex Richman was actually written for Alan Rickman.

  5. The day prior to the film's DVD release, The Muppets were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is located in front of the El Capitan Theater, which is owned by Disney and "plays" the Muppet Theater in the movie.
