With a band like Strawberry Shortcake behind you at least you get one solid song out of it....or half formed? Jelly? Yes...it's not great but here it is.

Gangbusters! And so are these fun facts.

  1. Fourteen cars, costing $155,000, were destroyed in the film's climatic demolition sequence.

  2. The final film for veteran character actors Patsy Kelly and Douglas Fowley and Australian actress Marjorie Bennett.

  3. This movie was inspired by events that took place at a church in New Rochelle, New York in October 1963. The real North Avenue Presbyterian did lose its charter at some point before the movie was released, was sold to the city of New Rochelle, and stood vacant for over 30 years. It is now owned by Clara & Mariano Rivera and hosts Clara's Pentecostal congregation.

  4. The locomotive that Blarney Stone runs into on the bridge, Union Pacific 402, was an Electro-Motive SD24, built in 1959. Only 224 of this model were ever built in various configurations, and only 2 are known to survive today, neither of them a UP engine.

  5. In the scene where the church is blown up, the movie's crew didn't realize until after the destruction (in one take, of course) that there was no film in the camera. The church had to be rebuilt and blown up again. As of a few years ago, it still sits on a lot at Buena Vista studios.

At the time of recording unfortunately we had to rent this one on Amazon to watch. Not available on Disney+
